What we store on your device, and what we don't. Last updated July 2026.

Short Version

We only use a small number of essential local-storage items to make the site work and to remember your preferences, plus a limited set of Google Ads conversion-measurement cookies that tell us when one of our own search adverts led to an enquiry. We use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool for basic traffic measurement, it does not track you across sites. We do not use Google Analytics, remarketing or any cross-site behavioural tracking.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Browsers also support similar technologies like localStorage. We use the word "cookies" below to cover both.

Cookies and Storage We Use

The following items may be stored by this site on your device:

  1. minster-theme, remembers whether you chose the light or dark display mode on our legal pages. Stored in your browser's localStorage. Persistent until you clear your browser data.
  2. Booking system session cookies, our online booking platform (operated by ProHire) sets its own session cookies when you complete a booking there. Those cookies are controlled by ProHire, not by us.
  3. msd_gclid, set by us only when you arrive at the site by clicking one of our Google search adverts. It stores the random click identifier from the ad link for up to 90 days so that, if you then request a quote or start a booking, we know which advert brought you here. It contains no personal details.
  4. Google Ads conversion cookies (_gcl_au and similar), set by Google's measurement tag for the same purpose: confirming that an enquiry on our site followed a click on one of our own adverts. These are first-party cookies, they are not used to show you ads on other websites, and they typically expire within 90 days.

All of these are "strictly necessary" in the sense that they either make the site work or remember a direct choice you made. We do not set any optional cookies, which is why you won't see a cookie consent banner on this site.

Analytics We Do Use

We use a cookieless analytics tool to count page views and see which pages are popular. It does not set any cookies on your device and does not build a profile of you across sites. It records the page URL, the referring page, your approximate geographic region (derived from your IP at request time, not stored against you), your browser type and the time of the request. This data is not shared with advertisers and is not used to serve ads.

What We Don't Use

For transparency, we want to be explicit about what is not on this site:

  1. No Google Analytics or other cookie-based analytics scripts.
  2. No Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight or any other third-party advertising or remarketing pixels.
  3. No remarketing or "personalised ads", we do not follow you around the internet.
  4. No behavioural tracking, session replay or heatmap tools.
  5. No cross-site tracking of any kind.

In addition to the analytics above, our hosting provider records basic server-side request metadata (IP, user agent, page requested) for short periods for security and reliability. That data is not stored on your device and is covered in our Privacy Statement.

Your Choices

If you would rather we did not measure your visit against our adverts, you can block or delete cookies for this site in your browser, or simply avoid clicking our adverts, the site works identically either way. Blocking cookies will not affect quotes or bookings.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies and clear localStorage. If you do, the site will still work, but your theme preference on our legal pages will not be remembered.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. If we ever add analytics or other optional cookies we will update this policy, add a consent banner, and ask for your permission before loading them.
